LSO Open Rehearsals

The London Symphony Orchestra is providing individuals and groups of adults with learning disabilities, their supporters and carers with the chance to experience the world-famous LSO in relaxed and informal settings.

This your chance to hear the orchestra rehearsing in the Barbican Hall. You’ll get a sneak-peak into how a professional orchestra works – the orchestra may stop and start, and it’s more relaxed than attending an evening concert.

You are welcome to leave the rehearsal during the break (approx. halfway through the rehearsal) if the rehearsal feels too long.

As the orchestra is working, we ask that everyone tries to be as quiet as possible and refrains from clapping. We understand you may need to leave the hall during a rehearsal and you are welcome to do so during a loud section of music, or when the orchestra stops playing.

All the events are free but you need to book in advance. Please note that you can apply for up to 8 places for Open Rehearsals but as these events are popular and we want as many people to experience them as possible, you may only be allocated places for one of the dates.

If you would like to apply, please complete the booking form by clicking below.

This form will close at midday on Friday 13 December 2019. We will contact you during the following week to let you know if you have been allocated spaces to your chosen event/s.
