LSO Discovery: Open Rehearsals
The London Symphony Orchestra is providing individuals and groups of adults with learning disabilities, their supporters and carers with the chance to experience the world-famous LSO in relaxed and informal settings. These public events include Open Rehearsals with the London Symphony Orchestra at the Barbican, and presented Relaxed Performances (chamber music performances) at LSO St Luke’s.
Open Rehearsals are your chance to hear the orchestra rehearsing in the Barbican Hall. You’ll get a sneak-peak into how a professional orchestra works – the orchestra may stop and start, and it’s more relaxed than attending an evening concert.

As the orchestra is working, we ask that everyone tries to be as quiet as possible and refrains from clapping. We understand you may need to leave the hall during a rehearsal and you are welcome to do so during a loud section of music, or when the orchestra stops playing.
You can apply for places for one Open Rehearsal per term, and two Relaxed Performances per term. This is because the events are popular and we want as many people to experience them as possible.
Bookings will close at midday on Tuesday 23 April 2019. We will contact you later on that week to let you know if you have been allocated spaces to your chosen event/s.
