Agents of Change - an amazing opportunity for 8-18 year olds!
The Flamingo Chicks’ Agents of Change (AOC) is our youth leadership program for disabled children. It’s an elected body of 10 who represent their peers, lead our organisation and campaign for a fair future for disabled kids.
Two charities; Flamingo Chicks & Lightyear Foundation have joined forces to run an EXCITING online Summer Club over the last two weeks of August:
· Ideal for those aged 8-18
· 8 exciting Zoom activity sessions
· Choose which you take part in!
· Open to disabled children and siblings too
· 2 hosts to ensure children are fully supported
· Each session is approximately 45 minutes
· Free to take part
The sessions feature incredible, daily VIP guests – for example: Learn how to live on Mars with a NASA Scientist, interview the CEO of Paralympics GB or make your own face mask design which we’ll have made and sent to you! The programme focuses on building resilience and recovery and ‘widening worlds’ as we ease out of Lockdown. It will be a celebration of exciting opportunities!
Funding for this project has come from the John Lyon’s Charity so participants must live in or attend school in one of the following Boroughs: Barnet, Brent, Camden, Ealing, Hammersmith & Fulham, Harrow, Kensington & Chelsea, Westminster, City of London.
We have 15 spaces available and booking will close once spaces are filled. We anticipate high demand so please email AOC@flamingochicks.org to book your child’s place. We’ll need their name, age, London Borough plus any accessibility requirements along with which sessions they’d like to take part in (this could include all of them!).
